Snapshot: When Salman Khan appeared before Jodhpur court

Actor Salman Khan, who was booked under the Arms Act case in connection with poaching of blackbucks, appeared before the Jodhpur court on January 30. "Salman, in his statement, has denied all the allegations and said he neither was carrying illegal arms nor did he poach blackbucks," Salman Khan's counsel Hastimal Saraswat had said. On the night of October 1-2, 1998, while shooting Hindi movie 'Hum Saath Saath Hain', two blackbucks, a protected animal under the Wildlife Protection Act, were supposedly killed near Jodhpur. The court has fixed March 10 as its next hearing date. (With inputs from IANS) (Image Courtesy: PTI)

Realised the truth of life through bandages: Shah Rukh Khan

Mumbai: A recent injury on the sets of 'Happy New Year' has left Shah Rukh Khan 'strapped around the joints'. The superstar has compared his condition to his philosophy of life.
"Been strapped around the joints last few days. Realised the truth of life through bandages. Not too tight not too loose...keeps it comfortable," Shah Rukh posted on the microblogging site Twitter Wednesday.
However, for the actor, the 'Not too tight not too loose' philosophy doesn't apply to hugs from his children."The not too loose or tight philosophy of life doesn't apply to these hugs. These ones tighter the better," he posted with a picture of him hugging his son Aryan and daughter Suhana.
'Happy New Year' is being directed by Farah Khan and will release this Diwali. The film also features Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah among others.

Shahrukh Khan’s lungi, Salman Khan’s towel, Akshay Kumar’s hookah: When stars had a little help….

Once in a while lyrics, music and choreography fail to make a song work. That is when a prop comes in handy to add a much-needed fun element, that proverbialtadka, making things more appealing, even beautiful and always, fun. B-town biggies from Amitabh Bachchan to Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan to Katrina Kaif have used a rumaal, an umbrella or even a belt at some point to woo fans. Take a look at some really memorable props that shone brighter than the stars who used them….
Salman Khan’s towel: He is the master when it comes to using his imagination and that something extra. Sallu has wielded a guitar (Jab Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya) and a towel (Jawaani phir na aaye) to amazing effect. In fact, bhai knows how to wiggle his belt, boots, aviators and even backpockets to create hysteria!
Shahrukh Khan’s lungi: He usually relies on his incredible wit, charming dimple and gift of the gab to keep fans entertained. And his now-legendary romantic pose has been channelled in almost every film he’s done. But when he wrapped himself in a lungi and hopped about at the very end of Chennai Express, the King Khan made history of sorts!
Akshay Kumar’s hookah pipe: Known for being able to grab the audiences with his kickassKhiladi moves, Akhay Kumar showed his fans how to keep it smoking hot by grooving to the tunes of Himesh Reshamiya’s peppy club number Hookah bar. While he is a non-smoker, he made the sheesha look hotter than ever with that dishy groove and cool dude attitude!
Aamir Khan’s umbrella: Mr Perfectionist is rarely satisfied unless he uses every prop he can justify to… err… perfection. From a matchstick and a handkerchief in Aati kya Khandala in Gulaamto a vibrant umbrella in Zoobie doobie from 3 Idiots, the shorty Khan wooed his onscreen lady love like a pro. With a little help, of course!
Govinda’s sexy handkerchief!: When it comes to sexualising props to draw whistles from the audience, no one can beat Govinda. Remember how he proclaimed almost everything he owned was sexy when he shook a leg to the hilariously over-the- top Meri pant bhi sexy, mera shirt bhi sexy..yeh rumaal bhi sexy hain? And his family was sexy too!
Amitabh Bachchan’s guitar: In a movie career spanning over four decades Amitabh Bachchanmust have used a zillion props, but the one that swept us off our feet was a stylish guitar in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. The movie bombed, but the 66-year-old Big B rocked in his hatke artistic avatar. And the hat, the feathers and, of course, the guitar, made it happen.
Katrina Kaif’s hoops: If you think that the lady could intoxicate just with her elegant screen presence and a bottle of pahua tied to her precariously low kashti in Chikni Chameli, then consider her acrobatic moves using ropes and hoops in Malang from Dhoom:3. We knew right then that Kat is not just a delicate… err… prop that directors use for visual pleasure, hai na?

Sunny Leone promotes XXX at Celebrity Cricket League!

Looks like nobody knows the strategy of ‘product placement’ better than Sunny Leone. The Canadian adult film star (‘porn’ star for those who like blunt and crude) is cementing her position in Bollywood with some meaty projects and endorsement opportunities coming her way.
Sunny is definitely using her ultra-hot presence to endorse products. In fact, she was the perfect choice for a leading condom brand, we thought. The babe moaned and moved her killer bod to seducing effect in the scorching commercial. And now she is excited about her next movie Ragini MMS 2. She is choosing her projects carefully and has even sent out a strong message recently to filmmakers who believe that she is easy to attain (for roles, of course!). By maintaining that she won’t indulge in skin show at the drop of a hat Sunny has reinforced her keep- your-hands-off-me and maintain-respectable-distance diktats in no uncertain terms!
Recently Sunny caught all eyes when she appeared at the ongoing Celebrity Cricket League aka CCL. And guess what – Sunny decided to promote her Jackpot co-actor Sachiin Joshi’s cola band XXX at the sporting event. Now it’s not Sunny’s problem if the name of the cola reflects Leone’s colourful repertoire, but the gal definitely knows how her history can actually worked in her favour. Way to go, girl!

Vidya Balan: I’m running out of words to express gratitude for the Padma Shri

Vidya Balan, who is overwhelmed with the announcement, has dedicated the fourth highest civilian award to her family.
“I’m thrilled. I’m overjoyed. I’m overwhelmed. I’m honoured. I’m humbled…..! I’m running out of words to express my feelings and gratitude,” said Vidya.
“To be receiving this honour from the government of my country is a matter of great pride for me and I dedicate this award to my family who made me, me,” she added.

Vidya Balan’s Bobby Jasoos look revealed: View pic!

Vidya featured on the small screen entertainer Hum Paanch before taking baby steps into the big Bollywood world. She made her cinematic debut in 2005 with Parineeta, an adaptation of a 1914 eponymous Bengali novel. She then proved her versatility film after film. Her strong presence and performance in films like Paa, Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica and Kahaani have made her a sought after name in Bollywood.
Her most power-packed performance came in the form of The Dirty Picture, where her portrayal of southern sex siren Silk Smitha won her a best actor National award. In 2012, she married Siddharth Roy Kapur, managing director of Studios, Disney UTV.

Krishna Abhishek to quit Comedy Circus to launch new TV show?

Sunil Grover, who was part of Kapil Sharma’s Comedy Nights with Kapil branched out to start his own TV show on Star Plus, Mad in India. Now we hear actor Krushna Abhishek will soon launch his own entertainer on the small screen.
A little birdie chirped, “Krushna’s show will feature comedian Kiku Sharda, who is seen in comedy show Comedy Nights with Kapil as of now, and will air on Sony Max starting February.”
We wonder if the actor intends of taking Sudesh Lehri in his new show. After all it was their comic connection that hit it off on the small screen, no? With so many exists from Comedy Circus, wethinks the show will finally shut the shutter unless that recruit some new talent.
All said and done, this new venture is a new ray of hope in Krushna‘s career -his comedy often got him roles in movies like Bol Bachchan and Hook Ya Crook. Guess this show will take it a notch higher, right BollywoodLifers?

Republic Day special: 6 patriotic songs nobody should forget!

India is celebrating its 64th Republic Day and Bollywood is part of the party in a big way. B-town musicians have composed many patriotic songs, often used to motivate the armed forces at the nation’s borders. Remember Lata Mangeshkar crooning Ae mere watan ke logon, Mohammad Rafi singing the melodious Ab tumhare hawale watan saathiyon or Manna Dey singing the soulful Ae mere pyaare watan, tujhpe dil kurbaan? Although these songs have left an indelible impression on our minds, others were as good, but have for some odd reason been forgotten. Have you heard these…?
Jai jawan: This song from the 2013 film War Chhod Na Yaar would not have been heard by too many. This song fills you with josh as you listen to it. It speaks of all the jawans protecting our borders day and night. The powerful voice of Sukhwinder Singh is the best part, as he sings lyrics by Faraz Haider set to music composed by Aslam Keyi.
Yeh des hai mera: This song from the 2010 film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey was not given much airtime, since the movie itself – which tells the story of the Chittagong uprising – did not work at the box office or with critics. The song was composed and sung by Sohail Sen with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. It is a call to all Indians to wake up and work towards saving the motherland. It fits aptly in the present day situation, where the Indian public wants to save the country from the corruptness of the politicians who run it.
Khoon chala: From the 2006 film Rang De Basanti, this one was composed by AR Rahman and sung by Mohit Chauhan, but failed to capture listeners. The song is about the armed forces who shed their blood to keep the nation and its people safe, while an uncaring government gives more importance to less important aspects of everyday existence. The pathos of the families of those slain bravehearts is depicted very well through Prasoon Joshi’s lyrics.
Kandhon se milte hai kandhe: This number from the 2005 film Lakshya is indeed remembered, but rarely sung as part of any national day celebrations. It talks about the journey that a soldier goes through when he leaves his near and dear ones behind and prepares for an impending war, even as he watches his fellow soldiers dying in the conflict. Sung by Kunal Ganjawala, Sonu Nigam, Roop Kumar Rathod, Vijay Prakash, Hariharan and Shankar Mahadevan, this one was penned by Javed Akhtar. The tune was composed by the trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
Aisa des hai mera: This song from the 2004 film Veer Zaara will echo in the minds of those who watched the film. It has been very beautifully written by Javed Akhtar and makes a comparison of sorts between what goes on in Pakistan and across the border in India. The song has two individuals talking about how the two countries are alike in every manner and how they should always live in brotherhood. It is sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Udit Narayan, Gurdas Mann and Pritha Mazumder and set to music composed by the late Madan Mohan.
Yeh jo des hai tera: The 2004 film Swades starring Shahrukh Khan had all his fans humming this one. The song was composed and sung by AR Rahman and the lyrics were courtesy Javed Akhtar. It depicts the mindset of an individual who wants to come back and develop his home nation, but cannot leave his job elsewhere. The words and the tune are nicely amalgamated to form a kind of string that pulls a NRI back to his own nation.
We dedicate these songs to the unsung heroes of the battlefield and wish everyone a very happy Republic Day!

Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif – Daddy’s little girls who made it big in Bollywood!

Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra may be rival heroines, but they were once sweet little girls who grew up to be famous faces in Bollywood. While there might be stark differences between them and their work, nobody can deny the fact that they have a lot in common – they are ambitious, hard working and gorgeous. Here’s a look at Bollywood’s best gals who made us – and their parents – very proud indeed!Deepika Padukone: The first and the only heroine to create a record that no Khan, Kumar or Khanna has managed yet. Dippy had four Rs 100 crore films last year and is working with the best of actors and filmmakers. Salman Khan cannot stop singing her praises and Shahrukh Khan has done three films (counting Happy New Year) with her. The Jai Ho star remarked at an awards function recently, “If Deepika were cast in a documentary film, the film would still do a business of Rs 200 crore!” That’s some compliment!
Priyanka Chopra: Daddy’s li’l princess has been taking care of mommy and little brother after her father’s passed away last year. The Exotic babe has also walked a path that no Bollywood hero or heroine has ever taken, and successfully. She’s now a singing sensation in the West and B-town’s very own desi gal. The first Indian to make it to to the Guess brand ambassador list, PeeCee is juggling films, promotions, recording studios and international appearances. And the reel version of Mary Kom can take a racist attack with a smile and combat it with grace and poise too!
Katrina Kaif: Not every heroine can negotiate a journey from Boom to Dhoom – Katrina did it. She is as known for her link-ups as for her star power. She might lack acting skills, but she more than makes up for it as a beautiful and hardworking heroine. Her dance moves have bagged her chartbuster numbers like Sheila ki jawaani, Chikni Chameli, Kamli and many more. And yes, she did ride solo in Yash Raj’s Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, despite having a Khan as co-star.
Kareena Kapoor Khan: The most gorgeous Khan in B-town, Bebo’s beauty and good looks are backed with solid talent – she has surprised her fans with class acts in films like Chameli, Jab We Met and Omkara. She can play the ultimate seductress or the girl next door with ease and conviction. We love the Kapoor gal for wearing her heart on her sleeve and breaking norms – be it with films, co-stars, relationships or remuneration, Kareena has been a game changer. And she is the favourite of all three Khans!
Anushka Sharma: A Bollywood heroine who called herself ‘ugly’ on national television, even if she was only voicing her mentor Aditya Chopra’s opinion – we don’t not think that any actor in Hindi films would have dared to say so on camera. Her filmi track record puts any quibble about her looks on the back-burner. Anushka Sharma chooses films that showcase her acting prowess. She is the youngest upcoming heroine to start her own production house, long before offers from big-name studios and directors could dry up. Anushka has an interesting line-up of films – PK,Bombay Velvet and NH10 (which she is co-producing). She could be the dark horse in the race to No 1.

What happened when Salman Khan met ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif?

Salman Khan is certainly over Katrina Kaif. The Jai Ho actor recently bumped into his ex-lover at Bandra’s famous Mehboob studio in Bandra, and guess what they did?Sallu-Kat exchanged a warm hug and didn’t mind chatting up with each other, even if it was for just fifteen minutes. Salman had in an earlier interview said that Katrina and he are friends and will always be friends. Well, looks like this Dabangg Khan is staying true to his words.
While Katrina might not be a familiar fixture at his parties anymore, she still continues to maintain a cordial relationship with her ex-beau and his family. There were rumours suggesting that Kat was no longer in the invitees list for his family gatherings, but Ms Kaif put all these talks to rest when she made a quite appearance at the Ganeshotsav celebrations at his Galaxy apartment, along with a whole lot of Sallu’s other heroines. There was also buzz about how Arbaaz had replaced Katrina with Sonam Kapoor in his upcoming production venture, but that hasn’t affected Salman and Katrina’s rapport.
In fact, Salman even talked to a leading news daily about his brief interaction with Katrina. He said, ”She used to be a friend, but today she is somebody else’s friend. I respect that and I stay away because I don’t want to give someone a reason to tell her, ‘Oh you are still in touch with Salman.’ The past should not intrude in the present.” How thoughtful of the Kick actor, na?
When he was further quizzed about attending Katrina’s wedding, he said, ”If I am invited, I will.” Well, this is certainly a changed Salman Khan. And we totally like him. So, now we know thatKatrina can have a starry guest list at her wedding; though, we don’t know if  Ranbir Kapoor will be okay, hai na?

Saif Ali Khan: Tigmanshu Dhulia doesn’t make Rs 200 crore films!

Saif Ali Khan has charmed many with his loverboy image, but with Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Bullett Raja the Nawab is moving into new territory. We recently caught up with Kareena Kapoor Khan’s hubby, who looked royal in every sense in a blue long kurta and white pants. We had to wait a bit to start chatting, since Mr Khan wasn’t comfortable sitting on a chair and so had a sofa brought in. Truly nawabi, hai na? But the wait was worth it, coz Saif was more than willing to answer questions and did speak his mind, unlike most celebrities who think twice before making any kind of statement. Did he talk about his daughter’s filmi plans? Was he willing to comment on his rivals? Is he hoping to enter the Rs 100 crore club with Bullett Raja? Find out…..
You have a very western persona and yet you pull off Indian roles like Langda Tyagi inOmkara and now Raja Mishra in Bullett Raja. How do you manage that?
Omkara was something I worked really hard on and Vishal Bhardwaj gave me a great role and it helped me a lot. I have grown as an actor; I understand my job well and have little more control over what I do. I like the feeling of being versatile. But there was a time when I was not doing too much work. I used to look for stuff that excited me, and was trying to be selective. But then I realised I was wrong. I felt that even if I made a mistake, I should keep working and try different things. If I like a film and its director, I don’t need to really read the whole script to convince myself. And I felt Bullett Raja was really interesting; it was something new and different. Moreover, if you keep doing what is comfortable and what comes to you easily, after a while it gets boring. I am lucky I could do a film like Bullett Raja. Further, you need to have a slightly tough demeanour, a rough attitude, to carry this part and there was a time when I felt I was too young to do it or too boyish to pull it off. It is really exciting that times have changed now.
Did you ever think of producing the film?
I don’t know if this genre has a sure shot success rate. But I don’t know if I would really produce a film like this, somehow.
How did you get into the character of Raja Mishra?
Sab kuch Tigmanshu ke dimaag mein tha. When he narrated me the story, we first sorted out the costumes. Coz my character transforms from a simple guy to a gangster. So first you see me in normal shirts, jeans and ganji, but when I turn gangster, I start wearing shiny shirts, trousers and all. Though they are flashy clothes, they look good. Kuch cheezein lucky bhi thi, coz I did Go Goa Gone before Bullett Raja and I had dyed my hair blond – I shouldn’t have, I should have just worn a wig (smiles). So I made my hair brown again and there were a few streaks that looked great for Bullett Raja. Though it doesn’t look good personally, it was great for the character. So once the clothes and look were decided, I worked on the diction and body language, but that wasn’t really tough. I just had to get the basics right.
You have your own fan base, but when we talk about being a ‘Khan’, you’re in a different league. Why do you think that’s so?
I don’t know… har ek aadmi ki apni ek personality hoti hai and destiny hoti hai. Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan have always been superstars and I respect them a lot. I have maintained friendships with all the three Khans. I have spoken to them a lot and they all think differently. Even my thinking is different. If you’re lucky, you get what you want. And I want to work, I want to go on holidays, I like fishing and I want to travel around the world. I think I am most comfortable right now in my life. I am better now than three years ago, or five years ago. I thinkHappy Ending will do better than Hum TumBullett Raja will be better than Race. So I think I am getting better.
There is the Rs 100 crore pressure on every A-list actor and people are hoping thatBullett Raja will enter the Rs 100 crore club…
I don’t think Bullett Raja will cross Rs 100 crore – not every film does so. And more so, it’s a Tigmanshu Dhulia film.
But at a recent event he said this film would change the face of commercial cinema…
See, I love his attitude and he has been saying amazing things, that I am like Amitabh Bachchan and Sonakshi Sinha is Rekha and he is changing cinema. It’s really nice what all he is saying and I wish him luck. But I don’t think we can change cinema. You can try and change, but we exist under the umbrella of cinema. You don’t change it; you function within it. Or you change cinema like Steven Spielberg does by making movies like Star Wars. So I don’t know if this is changing cinema. But I think what he means is that the definition of ‘commercial’ is changing – like Barfi! made Rs 100 crores. That’s not normally what you think of as a commercial film. Tigmanshu’s films – coz he is a little artistic – I think are a little somehow niche. This is the most commercial film he has made. But not every film can make Rs 100 crore. Certain films you expect should, like in my career I think Race 2 should and maybe Happy Ending should. But I don’t expect the same withBullett Raja.
Shahrukh, Salman and Aamir have broken records – now you’re the ‘fourth Khan’, so people are expecting the same… maybe 200 crore or 500 crore…. from you!
Good, even I am waiting (laughs out loud)! I hope one day it happens. But I don’t think Tigmanshu’s film has all the elements for that. He doesn’t make Rs 200 crore films, you know. Probably Sajid Khan will make a film like that, or if I work with Prabhu Dheva you can hope it will be something big. They make more masala type movies. Tigmanshu’s films are little more sensible, not potboilers. So I will be very happy with less than Rs 100 crore, but more than a certain amount. It should make money; it should be a hit.
When you stepped into this massy entertainer space were you consciously aware that your film would be pitted against those which make a lot of moolah?
It’s obvious that not every film made mints so much money and you should know that as producer/ director, or as an actor. When people come to see a Tigmanshu Dhulia film, they are obviously not going expect it to be a Rohit Shetty comedy. Both filmmakers are from different leagues and thinking. Every film has its expectations. You can’t compare them with each other.
Tell us about your co-star Sonakshi Sinha…
I don’t know how she manages to promote two films at the same time! I feel so tired. It’s amazing how she does it. And she is very nice and down-to-earth and I really enjoyed working with her. She’s very grounded and that makes our film grounded as well. She is easy going and I feel I have known her for a long time, which I haven’t.
There have been reports of your daughter Sarah Ali Khan wanting to enter Bollywood…
Sarah is studying in America and she will be there for four years, coz she has to complete her education. Once she gets her education in place, she can do whatever she wants to do. She can live and work anywhere in the world; or if she wants to come back and join films, I will support her. But if she wants to do films, then she surely needs to lose weight. But she can’t let go her pizza (laughs)!
Maybe Kareena Kapoor Khan will help her….
Well, nobody can help her – not even Kareena… She has to do it herself!

Will Aishwarya Rai Bachchan make a comeback with Mani Ratnam?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been out of action for close to three years now-and we don’t need to get into elaborate explanation for that one. Ash knew her priorities right and wanted to give her full attention to her baby daughter Aaradhya. And now Beti B, as she is fondly called by the media, is all set to take her baby step forward to play school, mommy Aishwarya has apparently decided to get back to her love-and that’s acting!
We hear from our well-placed source that the Bachchan bahu is likely to make her comeback in a Mani Ratnam movie. Known as one of the finest filmmakers in the country, Ratnam not only made Ash look beautiful but he also proved that Ash has it in her to impress the audience with her acting skills through movies like Guru and Raavan. In fact, Aishwarya (then Rai) made her acting debut with Ratnam’s 1997 Tamil political drama Iruvar.
Now this news might have made us happy since we can’t wait to watch Aishwarya showing her unmatchable ada once again with Ratnam’s endeavour, but we wonder if Ash should have considered Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s proposed offer since nobody understands and projects Ash magic the way SLB does.
Never mind, we think Ratnam must be having something really extraordinary in his mind for B-town’s most glamorous diva to turn her starry steps towards him.

Sherlyn Chopra calls Kamasutra 3D director a pimp!

Call it kahaani mein (read Kamasutra 3D) twist or a publicity gimmick like no other, but Rupesh Paul, the director Kamasutra 3D, who used to be so close and dear toSherlyn Chopra, that the gal would address him as appa (father in Hindi), has suddenly transformed into a pimp for the playboy starlet!
If you’re wondering what happened, then apparently there are some massive creative differences between Sherlyn and Rupesh that eventually led to Sherlyn’s withdrawal from the movie; this obviously agitated the director. Sherlyn chose to ditch even the trailer launch of the movie because she is not happy with the fact that she has not been given adequate exposure in the film’s sensational trailer.
Rupesh went on to question that how could Sherlyn leave the film, when she endorsed it in Cannes film festival. “I have shot all the scenes with her for my movie except for few promotional ones. Then I fail to understand when did she quit? After being a major part of us in Cannes, American Film Market, IFFI- Goa and more, even till the end month of the last year, when did she actually quit?” said Rupesh in his defence.
Sherlyn too, unleashed a verbal attack of sorts in response, when she got to know about the unsavoury comments he was making about her. “Mr.Hatela, @rupeshpaul says dat he cannot be my ‘PIMP’. Kyun nahi?? Shakal se toh Pimps ka Boss lagta hai.. Ab woh kya kamaayega aur kaise?” declared Sherlyn.
The ugly spat is for the world to witness on Sherlyn’s Twitter account, with the babe calling her director friend a pimp and appa in the same breath. To this comment, Rupesh has responded in a quirky way. “Dear Sherlyn, you can hire a pimp for your business, but spare your father,” said Rupesh.

Karan Johar to direct again by year-end!

Filmmaker Karan Johar, who last directed the 2012 movie Student Of The Year, says he will go behind the camera again by the end of 2014. He is currently seen on the small screen as one of the judges of the reality show India’s Got Talent and also on his chat show Koffee With Karan.
“I will direct by the end of this year. December this year, I will start my next film. That’s all I can say at the moment,” Karan said in a recent interview.
There were reports that Karan may direct a period drama, but he denied it and said: “It’s not a period drama. It’s a different film which I can’t talk about it right now.”
Karan first donned the director’s hat for the 1998 Shahrukh Khan-starrer Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. He went on to make films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and more.

Will Sanjay Leela Bhansali cast Hrithik Roshan for Bajirao Mastani?

It’s old goss now that Sanjay Leela Bhansali wants to make a film on Bajirao Mastani. In fact, most of you know that Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai (now Bachchan) were his first choice for the film. But then the duo parted ways and the film went on hold. Recently, Shahrukh Khan’s name was being linked to the film. However, soon that buzz was declared a rumour. That’s when we asked you BollywoodLifers to pick your hero, the one you’d like to see as Peshwa Bajirao. And guess what? Hrithik Roshan has emered as the first choice by winning the maximum number of votes. The Greek God of B-town bagged 1443 votes, that is over 57 percent of the total number of votes. Ranveer Singh followed Hrithik with 438 votes (17 percent). But well, that’s nowhere close to the number of votes that the Krrish 3 actor won, hai na?
The second runner up was the playboy of B-town, Ranbir Kapoor, with 267 votes (11 percent). You won’t believe this but the next was Aamir Khan with 231 votes (9 percent). Not bad, eh? Ajay Devgn managed to get 82 votes (3 percent) from his ardent fans and Akshay Kumar won 62 votes (2 percent).
Well, so if Bhansali does see this result, he knows which actor to pick for his movie on Bajirao Mastani to be a success. There’s no doubt that Hrithik Roshan would make one hot Peshwa, hai na?

Will become a singer if I fail as an actress, says Alia Bhatt

Mumbai: Alia Bhatt, who has lent her voice to a song in her upcoming film 'Highway', says if she fails as an actress, she will turn to singing. When director Imtiaz Ali asked her to croon a number in 'Highway', she jumped at the idea. "I am not a singer... I think I am a bathroom singer. When I was asked to sing I was excited and thought of trying it (singing) out. A R Rahman sir was very patient with me. If I fail as an actress, I will become a singer," Alia told reporters here last night at the film's promotional event.
When the team of 'Highway' was travelling since it is a road movie, Alia would often sing Rahman's song 'Jiya Re Jiya'. That's when Imtiaz thought of exploring her singing talent. Music maestro A R Rahman told her to practice and that if she learns singing for two years, she could have her album.
According to Alia, who is geared up for the highway journey in a deglam avatar with Randeep Hooda, both acting and singing are difficult.
Will become a singer if I fail as an actress, says Alia Bhatt

According to Alia, who will be seen in 'Highway', both acting and singing are difficult.

"I am just two films old when it comes to acting and it's my debut as a singer with 'Highway'. For me both are difficult," she said. "When I was recording with Rahman sir, I messed up a few times but that is ok...it happens. I did not know anything about singing...I did not know how to sustain my breath, but later on I learnt with the help of Rahman sir," Alia added.
'Highway', produced by Imtiaz Ali's Window Seat Films and presented by Sajid Nadiadwala, will be released worldwide by UTV Motion Pictures on February 21.
The film is set in six states and captures the journey of two completely opposite persons who come together by fate.
