Sanjay Dutt granted one month parole extension

The state government has granted a parole extension of 30 days to Sanjay Dutt. The actor, who is currently on a month’s leave from prison, was expected to return to jail on January 21.
The 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case convict had sought extension citing his wife Maanyata‘s ill health.Prior to this, Dutt was released twice in 2013 after he surrendered before the TADA court. He was earlier released on furlough in October 2013 and then in December 2013 on parole to attend his family.
Dutt who is serving his jail term in the 1993 bomb blasts case was granted parole by the Pune police last month on grounds of his wife’s illness.
